Frequently Asked Questions

How long is a therapy session?

Therapy sessions are 50-55 minutes in duration. In certain cases, arrangements can be made to have sessions of extended length.

How long does therapy take?

Each person’s therapy process is specific to them. While some may make relatively quick progress toward their treatment goals, others can take considerably longer. Each client has their own unique needs, personal history and personality style, as well as goals for treatment. Each of these factors influence the process and pace of therapy. At the outset of therapy, clear goals for treatment will be established, and there will be ongoing evaluation of progress throughout the therapy process.

How much does therapy cost?

My fee for a single therapy session is $170. This fee is expected to be paid at the time of service. Clients can pay by cash, check, or Zelle. I occasionally offer therapy services on a sliding scale. You can contact me to discuss fees and to determine if you are eligible for a sliding scale rate.

Do you take Insurance?

My practice works on a fee for service basis and does not work directly with insurance companies. Clients will be expected to pay the full session rate. Many insurance companies reimburse their clients for out-of-network provider services. In such cases, I will be happy to provide you with a detailed invoice or a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Does the office have parking?

The building has a limited number of parking spaces available to visitors. These spaces are labeled “client parking.” “Reserved” parking is for therapists and other tenants. There is a good deal of street parking in the surrounding neighborhood and some metered parking within a block of the office building.

Does the office building have elevators?

This office is located in a historic home that has been converted into therapy offices. My office is on the second floor and there is no elevator. Clients must be able to ascend one flight of stairs.
